The Storyteller

book-863418_1280

OK, so you think you’re the storyteller. Telling the story of your life.

You claim to be the storyteller. That it’s all up to you.

You were taught that you’re the storyteller. That you have to do it right.

But if you’re the storyteller…….

Why would you choose to do it wrong?

Why would you choose to feel sad?

Why would you choose to feel unfulfilled?

Why would you choose to get cancer or AIDS?

Why would you choose to get old and die?

Why would you choose to suffer?

You believe that these things mean you did it wrong, you’re not good enough, you messed it up, it’s your fault, you should have been better, you should have done more.

But what if all they mean, what if all they are pointing you towards is that you’re not the storyteller?

What if it was never up to you?

What if Life just is as it is? Terrible and beautiful.

May you find peace there.
